A robot and his dog

This is the last of three retro robot drawings I created. I created the drawing with pen and ink. The color is applied in Photoshop. I’ll have to try another subject for my next sketch. I’m sure someday soon I will return to the subject of retro robots.

I like the metal man, but I think he is running on empty; that dog might be waiting a long time. And would throwing a wrench be akin to us tossing a femur? And by-the-way, what ever happened to all those fun 80s movies that featured our toasters taking over the world when Gremlins (the AMC version) spent all day hunting down Asian drivers? I think that is an untapped remake genre just waiting for the wrong producer. Oh metal man, you got this Hum-mon thinking.

    • Glad I got this Hum…mon thinking. You lost me on the Asia driver Gremlins reference. Maybe that is on full, maybe! Hard to say, right, he could be on full… you never know. Manuela thought it looked like the dog was going to pee oil on his leg. I originally had a bone in the sketch, but thought why a robot dog would want a real bone. Then again, why would it want a wrench?

I think that metal dogs would piss coolant, just like a 1978 AMC Gremlin. And dogs generally want whatever you seem interested in, except books, and usually fetch whatever you throw, such as babies. “OH! Dingo got me Baby!”
