Shiver me timbers here be me entry for this week’s Illustration Friday word o’ the week

Avast me mates, here it be, me entry for this week’s Illustration Friday word o’ t’ week. T’ word o’ t’ week be popularity. I created an illustration o’ a popular pirate captain hosted on t’ shoulders o’ his crew. Popular he be because he be such a nice pirate with such good manners. Once again, I used watercolors and some pens t’ create t’ illustration. Shiver me timbers!

    I like the picture. Your pirate king is certainly popular with his mates. I know pirates are all bandanas, earrings, prop parrots, rubber rafts, RPGs and bling, but I think this captain might be a bit too popular with the boys: “Shiver me timber, let’s go plunder the club maties!” I do like your homage to Antonio Banderas. “Too hot for Friday Word!” Now you just need to show your respect for the Diamond and Snake. Also like the Maori.

      Leaving the modern day pirates out of this illustration seemed like an excellent idea. RPGs and amusing pirate illustrations are not a natural fit. I’m not entirely sure how pirates so easily entered the realm of children’s literature. You don’t see as many stories about excitement loving burglars. I believe buccaneer’s popularity has a great deal to do with their love of funny words such as, “Arrgh.” I like the Maori as well.
