Character sketches just for the sake of sketching

Some character sketches I created on sheets of typing paper during one of my late night teacher education classes. Started off sketching people in class and eventually made up faces after a few drawings. These are sketches for the unadulterated sake of sketching.

Where the hell are you sitting to sketch? The teacher’s lounge at Tatooine High? I like the uniformed officers. In fact, I just got back from the Casa Rosada, where Cristina Fernández hosted a Mardi Gras party. I went dressed as an officer of the Royal Welch Fusiliers and spent an oddly tense night in character talking to Sean Penn about the wonders of our various colonies: “And India, Kenya, the Falklands of course, Bermuda, which the bloody yanks want, South Georgia . . . .” I also like the chick. She looks like a flapper who has just violated federal statute. Well done.

  4. Nate,
It does look like I was sitting at the bar on Tatooine. I started off sketching my surrounding faces and took off on a tangent. Looks like you took off on a tangent and tried to crowbar in a joke about Sean Penn and the Falkland Islands. I don’t see how you get the Falkland Islands out of some drawings of people’s heads. There is a time and a place for Argentinian jokes… and I don’t know when that is. It is hard to just have that topic of conversation come up in the States. I’m sure people would appreciate a good Argentinian joke in the Falkland Islands.

Just be glad I kept Hitler out of it. Damn! Looks like I didn’t.
