Trick or Treating Illustration

This is an illustration I made a few years ago just for the heck of it.  When I was a kid I always loved trick or treating in our suburban Michigan neighborhood.  I like how the chubby black cat turned out in the illustration.  The cat has quite a  haul of candy.

Such cute costumes! Whoa, that cat does have quite the haul of candy. But I am a tad worried just like that cute little owl in the tree – why are they walking through the scary woods! (Ok maybe it’s not scary woods. Maybe it’s just a few trees on a hill.) 🙂

  2. Cindy D.,
Thanks for taking a look at my illustration and for leaving a thoughtful comment.

Great imagery! Halloween is the best, even if it is a gateway holiday to more hardcore stuff like Sweetest Day, May Day and inevitably something like the Tlacaxipehualiztli festival. Love the kid illustration feel of the picture. At least they have adult supervision, a “One to grown on” theme there. The cat’s story might be pretty interesting. Did he find the candy? Did he spirit it away? Is he lacing it with catnip?

    • Thanks, Nate. I liked how this one turned out. Halloween is the best gateway holiday. I heard it leads to people celebrating May Day, Friendship Day and National Raspberry Cream Pie Day.
