Diana goddess of the hunt

This is my illustration of Diana the Roman goddess of the hunt and the moon.  In mythology she has the power to be able to talk with and control animals.  I have always had an interest in Mythology.  Once again, my Canon scanner bleached out the colors.   I am going to purchase the watercolor friendly scanner my friends recommended.

Very beautiful picture. I can see some of the inspiration from our countryman Alphonse Mucha upon your composition. Even for bleaching, the colors work well being soft and light to reflect upon your ariel subject. Like much of mythology, oak groves were sacred to Diana, so that was cool to incorporate them into your picture. Also like how the ground color is reflected in her dress creating a transitional harmonization with the natural word she represents. (Though I digress) I also see some M.K. influence upon your subject matter.

  2. Nate,
Thanks for the comment. You are right, I thought a lighter, softer color pallet would work well with the subject matter. Any Mia Kirshner influence was entirely unintentional.
