This is an old sketch I found in a pile of sketches in my study. It is a cycloptic robot!
He comes complete with a Frank Lloyd Wright background design!
Neal, ha, the robots background is very design orientated. Looks like something Mr. Wright would use as a window design.
Cool robot. I like the use of shadow and how his futurist curves contrast to the stylistic line pattern behind him. I take it he is a Japanese robot since he is standing behind one of those paper walls? Moreover, do robots really need any eyes? Can’t they just “see” in the other spectrum with say a single round ball like object to collect light placed in the center of their face plate?
Nate, thanks for the thoughtful comment. I don’t know why robots need eyes? You would imagine they could get along without them.
Haha, love the robot! I’m not sure how practical those heels are though! Neat details and I like the bolder lines.
(I hope you don’t mind, I updated your blog address on the comments you left me! You just put “sketcharound” but you need the .wordpress.com part too, so people can follow the link!) 🙂
Thanks, Cindy. I’ll be sure to add the address next time I am on your illustration site. You are right, those robot heels don’t look to practical!
