Homage To The Ghost Of Captain Cutler In Color

I added color to one of my old sketchs of Captain Cutler from Scooby-Doo.  The original episodes from Hanna-Barbera Productions, “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You” and “The Scooby-Doo Show” were big influences on my interest in drawing and monsters.   I remember being particularity fascinated by The Ghost of Captain Cutler.

He’s back! Great color job on an awesome sketch. I always loved this one with the seaweed and dead fish wrapped up in his old fashion diving gear, like a creature from the deep. The spooky green colors are a nice contrast to the dark sea and sky. I also really like the lights on in an empty helmet. Nicely done.

Thanks, Nate. I pulled some of the greens from the original cartoon. I added the lights at the last moment. The original cartoon had lights on inside the helmet.

Haha! I can’t say I recall this particular fellow from Scooby Doo, but he looks really cool here! I agree the color is really great. Great detail too!
