Pirates and Aliens

Here are two recent drawings I created.  One is a fun pirate drawing I made during a meeting and the other is an alien mercenary I created when I was sketching over the weekend.

Smells Like Teen Angst

It has been awhile since I posted.  I did some sketching today at a school meeting.  We were forced to watch a film about teen angst, even though I work with elementary kids.  The film had a feeling of persistent worry about various trivial things.  I drew some of the angry young people from the educational film.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.

I made some sharpie sketches of Romans for my fourth grade students.  We are learning about Ancient Rome and I needed some simple figure drawings for the students to use as reference.   We are talking about the horrible fate of Pompeii, next week.

Horrid Eye Monster Man

This is an illustration I created for a client.  It was one of the sketches for some RPG artwork that I ended up finishing up in black and white.

Clowning around in 2017

Happy 2017!  Here is a sketch of a clown that I made with a ballpoint pen during a meeting.  I was thinking of the clown as a supposedly jolly figure of innocuous, friendly entertainment, not the more recent popular image of a scary clown.   However, even I disliked and feared clowns when I was a kid.

Owl Lady!

I was knocking around the idea of a Gothic themed setting for some drawings.  This is a drawing of a member of the Fraternity of Feathers.  This society of like-minded individuals fight against the dark and mysterious setting.  They battle the foreboding, fear and dread of the haunted land.  This member of the Fraternity of Feathers has a giant owl companion that aids her in her fight against the darkness.

Creature Reminiscent of Frankenstein’s Monster

I was knocking around the idea of a Gothic themed setting for some drawings.  I used some common elements found in Gothic novels.  The land is a gloomy decaying setting filled with haunted houses and a castles with secret passages, trapdoors, and other mysterious elements.  Supernatural beings such as ghosts, vampires and zombies abound.  The weather is often foul and sudden rain storms filled with howling wind are common. I drew a constructed creature reminiscent of Frankenstein’s monster for the first drawing for this setting.

Monster Boat Attack!

Not even boats are safe from monster boat attacks!   This was a sketch I had started for Inktober.  I finished inking it and now present it to the world.

Feeling A Little Overwhelmed

Made it about halfway on my Inktober sketches.  The busyness and chaos of life won.  I created a sketch of how I feel sometimes.  Fighting way too many parts at once.

Mr. Hyde #inktober #inktober2016

Here is my sixteenth drawing for InkTober.  I created a drawing of Mr. Hyde from the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
